Sourced from Dutton Ranch's Sebastopol vineyard, our JAX Chardonnay vines dwell in famed "moon dust" soil. This fine grain soil provides the perfect combination of excellent drainage and low yields. Winemaker Kirk Venge crafts a creamy mélange of apricot jam, crisp pear and vanilla flavors with a refreshing citrus acidity that keeps this wine fresh and lively on the palate. Hand waxing each bottle, we call this wine "decadence inside and out."
Named after its once pedestrian purpose, the vineyard was named "Calesa" which means "stagecoach" in Spanish. Long ago, this site, (featuring expansive views of the Pacific), served as a resting stop for horse drawn carriages. Located in the newly minted Petaluma Gap AVA, Calesa vineyard sits in the "wind gap" or coastal mountain opening where direct coastal wine and cooler temperatures provide optimal growing conditions for Pinot Noir.
As terroir driven winemakers, we could not pass over the opportunity to partner with the estemmed Zinfandel vineyard site just off Zinfandel Lane in St Helena. Dr. Picket Vineyard was planted in 1998 and considered one of the top Zinfandel vineyard sources in Napa Valley. Unfortunetly, the owner Dr. Picket recently passed this year. He served as the Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at The Queen of the Valley Hospital.
Sourced from a mere half acre of the Jax Vineyard in northern Calistoga, we produce just 4-5 barrels of this lovely age-worthy gem. Thriving from the alluvial loam soil, consistent seasonal temperatures this Cabernet Franc has intense aromatic notes of Ranier cherry, the palate is quickly coated with generous layers of blueberry, dark plum and cigar box. We call this "Our Vineyard Gem."
JAX Vineyards sources this estate Cabernet Sauvignon from the family’s vineyard in northern Calistoga. David Jackson purchased the family vineyard after 5 years of searching for his ideal terroir encompassing alluvial loam soil, dry farmed vineyards, and the elemental protection of our little valley. The JAX name represents an updated, modern twist of the family name.

JAX Vineyard's Block 3 has always produced the best fruit of our JAX Estate in northern Calistoga. This is an intense expression of our unique red rock, alluvial soil at the base of Mount Saint Helena. Making it's debut in the 2013 vintage, this wine has repeatedly scored 94 to 97pts from numerous critics. This wine will be a treasure to anyones private cellar.
As eternal rosé lovers, we have always wanted to craft a gem of our own. The key to such a creation would be the ideal vineyard which we found we found on the Sonoma Coast. With minimal skin contact, this delicate rosé offers a bone-dry style accompanied by a touch of weight and complexity. Think "lunch in Provence."

Celebrating three generations of land-tilling, wine loving Jacksons, the family is proud to present Y3, a wine as special as the memories of their grandparents at Yarrayne Ranch. Summers get hot in Calistoga and it was on such a feverish day that siblings Kimberly and Trent found inspiration for this wine. The aim was simple: to make a clean and refreshing wine while representing a "true to varietal" Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. We call this our "Poolside Sipper."

In our humble wine-obsessed opinion, many Napa Valley Chardonnays tend to be over-styled with excessive butter and oak. But as the Jackson siblings know (through lots of “testing”), an outstanding Chardonnay owes its success to outstanding fruit, not a heavy style. We think you’ll agree.
For many years, we have looked at Pinot Noir as a distant fantasy....a varietal that we always loved but knew would be a difficult tackle. Not only is it a highly finicky grape requiring a milder climate, but also we know that pinot lovers are “die hard” fans wed to a very specific style. As hot climate Napa Valley vintners, we knew that we could not force our hand until the opportunity presented itself. Fast forward and along came our CEO Dan Parrott who had worked with some of the best producers in Burgundy before jumping on board at JAX. Dan inspired us to find the ideal vineyard to achieve a killer pinot!
The name "Taureau" was the name of the Jackson family’s prized bull, legendary for his feisty, high-kicking and vibrant personality. When perfecting this wine at their blending session, the JAX team concurred that the complex personality of their infamous bull reflected the complex structure and elements of this indulgent red blend... and what a perfect tribute to their family ranching legend. Reflecting the dominating character of Taureau, this wine boasts incredible purple fruit colors, flavors of blackberry, black cherry and red on the palate, and all supported by polished tannins. Balanced and delicious, this wine should drink well until 2028. "Your food should be so lucky to be paired with Taureau."
This wine is powerful, dense, but beautifully balanced and precise. The evocative nose of this wine is defined by true cassis, lush red currants and espresso. On the palate, there is a broad structure with textured flavors that are plush and full but with grace and elegance interwoven, supported with bright acidity and delicate tannins.
